Job Description

HOUSE MANAGER

Job Function: Responsible for the operation of the home. Supervises: Direct Support Persons (DSP) Reports To: QIDP/ADMIN Primary Duties: 1. Implement/work staff schedules according to Policy 5.16/W5.16 to meet the needs of the home.  a. Regular scheduled shift will be 4 on, 2 off: 12 pm – 8 pm or 1 pm – 9 pm. b. Any variance from the above schedule must be approved by the QIDP/ADMIN 2. Implement daily individual programs and activity schedule. 3. Monitor dietary program. 4. Work with the QIDP to ensure that individuals receive required and/or necessary medical, dental, and other clinical services. 5. Follow any and all job duties as outlined in the DSP job description. 6. Supervise DSPs and take appropriate action when necessary.  7. Train DSPs at specific home. 8. Perform other duties as requested by the QIDP. Qualifications for the House Manager shall be: Education: High School Graduate or GED Requirements:  Maintain a valid Driver’s License  Obtain State Food Service Sanitation Certification within three (3) months of  employment, and maintain Certification.                Complete DSP/DDA training in accordance with state regulations, and  maintain status on the Habilitation Aid Registry  Obtain/maintain standing as an Authorized Direct Care staff for medication  administration  Maintain acceptable status under the Healthcare Workers’ Background Check  Act  Physical Demands:    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be  met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with  disabilities to perform the essential functions.    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move, push and/or pull up to 20  lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth  perception, and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job,  the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach  with hands and arms; talk or hear and smell. The employee is required to move  frequently and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or  crawl.  The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time.   The employee must be able to assist in the evacuation of individuals in  emergency situations. The employee must possess emotional stability to deal  with stressful situations on a regular basis and the ability to deal with illness,  death, and dying.
