Job Description

REGIONAL TRAINER Job Function:     Provide quality individual services through training, and assisting  where needed.  Supervises:        No One Reports To:      Training Coordinator  Primary Duties:  1. Coordinate the DSP/DDA training program in conjunction with the Training Coordinator  and Administrator.  2. Coordinate employee and in-service training in conjunction with the Training Coordinator  and Administrator.  3. Provide support to their region and other regions as necessary or requested by the Training  Coordinator.   4. Coordinate CPR/1st Aid and Aggression Management Training to all employees.  5. Assist in the training of direct care staff in (CBTA’s) in the provision of services,       including hands on direct care staff training. (CBTA’s)  6. Confirm staff have completed all CBTA’s as required by their position.  7. Assist the Administrator in orientation and training of QIDP’s in the provision of   services.  8. Assist the Administrator with marketing needs.  9. Assist the Administrator with investigation needs.  10. Conduct annual and upon hire criminal background checks on employees through DCFS,      IDPHnet, Sex Offender, Sanctions, and Nurse Aid Registry.        11. Participate in the development and presentation of training materials for Semi-Annual  Meetings and/or any topics assigned by Training Coordinator.    12. Review policies and develop forms as needed.  13. In the absence of a QIDP assist the Administrator in organizing the assignment of duties to  meet the needs of the home.  14. Conduct periodic home audits and participate/organize the plan of correction as directed  by the Training Coordinator.  15. Assist with on-call with their region as needed or directed by the Training Coordinator.  16. Travel to other regions to assist as needed and directed by the Training Coordinator.  17. Schedules are submitted to and approved by the Training Coordinator.  18. Perform other duties as requested by the Training Coordinator.   Qualifications for Regional Trainers shall be:  Education:  Meets the qualifications of a QIDP as defined by the State          and Federal regulations.  Substitute for Education:                         None Experience:  Two (2) years experience working with individuals with                                                                         developmental disabilities  Requirements:  Must obtain/maintain CPR/1st Aid instructor's status                               Must obtain Aggression Management instructor’s status  Maintain a valid Driver’s License  Demonstrate functional 8th Grade literacy through standardized exam Obtain/maintain status on the Habilitation Aid Registry  Maintain acceptable status under the Healthcare Workers’ Background Check Act Complete DSP/DDA training in accordance with state regulations  Obtain/maintain Rule 50 and OIG basic investigative skills training.
